The Art & Artistry of Hacienda
As a compliment to Hacienda's magical setting and natural beauty, residents and visitors will be warmed by authentic Spanish design and artistry. Importer and design consultant, Buena Cara of Barcelona, will tastefully create an environment rich with Spain's early influence on Florida. Buena Cara has given special attention and care in the selection of Spanish Art and design elements which will be incorporated throughout the buildings and grounds. Every effort will be made to mirror historic Spanish buildings and gardens by importing decorative materials directly from Spain. In the tradition of historic Spanish design, Buena Cara has commissioned artisans known for using methods of the highest quality to provide accents of decorative ironwork, pewter fixtures, architectural decoration and ceramics.
This Spanish tradition of decorative ceramics and ironworks, some of which date back to early Roman times, will continue at Hacienda to reflect the Spanish spirit and Hacienda's coastal location. Residents will be pleased to find custom ceramic designs within the buildings, on the grounds, in the gardens and incorporated into flooring, staircases, ceilings, balconies and walkways. Pewter fixtures and decoration which have been produced in the same way for over 400 years in a small village in the center of Spain, will also be seen throughout the buildings, grounds and gardens.
Buena Cara's attention to detail and devotion to the Hacienda living experience stretches beyond decorations. Design details are utilized to invite one into a garden or room and beyond, never confining the visitor. Intricate motifs lend an air of elegance to the surroundings and evoke a continuity between nature and structure. Residents of Hacienda will walk through Spanish gardens that have been adapted to Florida's relaxed but elegant lifestyle. Fragrant flowering plants and trees, running water and hand made ceramics on benches and walkways create a warm and pleasant welcome. Distinctive features of historic Spanish gardens have been replicated on the grounds, allowing one to enjoy the Gateway of the Generalife Gardens in Granada or one of the patio's of the Garden of the Casa Sorolla in Madrid.
In the tradition of the early Spanish explorers on the discovery of "LaFlorida", these ideas have been transplanted to a new land to become part of the Hacienda experience.
